The newly unveiled two KFC green pioneer stores are located in Hangzhou Higher Education Park and Beijing Shougang Park respectively. The two entities "Little Green Store" followed the 4R principles of reduction (Reuse), Reuse, Recycle and replacement in overall design, equipment research and development selection and material application, which effectively realized the reduction of carbon emissions in restaurant operation and created a green restaurant Replace for consumers to experience, understand and participate in carbon reduction and environmental protection in an all-round way.
As KFC’s "Little Green Shop", the two restaurants first scientifically integrated various measures such as energy saving, emission reduction, plastic reduction and environmental protection that KFC has implemented in more than 8,100 restaurants across the country for many years, and introduced advanced low-carbon environmental protection technologies based on practical experience. The building roof of Hangzhou KFC Chuanglv Pioneer Store is paved with photovoltaic, which will generate about 10,000 kWh of clean electricity for the restaurant to use in one year, reducing the carbon emissions generated in the process of electricity consumption, and will further improve the energy utilization efficiency of the restaurant by combining energy storage technology. The IOT restaurant intelligent system based on Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence has realized the intelligent energy efficiency management of the two restaurants, effectively reducing energy consumption by about 10%. The ingenious use of new environmentally-friendly materials and equipment such as secondary recycled energy floor, reclaimed leather from coffee grounds, low-carbon bamboo and solar umbrellas in the "Little Green Shop" also realizes energy saving and emission reduction in the construction and operation of the restaurant in the form of material recycling, recycling and substitution.

In recent years, with the increasing popularity and perfection of online ordering and payment services, more and more consumers choose to order food through KFC APP or in-store ordering machines. Based on this insight, KFC uses a virtual "little green shop" in the mobile phone to remind consumers to practice low-carbon behaviors such as "don’t use disposable tableware" and "order food by mobile phone". KFC APP records these low-carbon behaviors in the ordering process and converts them into "carbon beans" incentives for consumers.
